There is, I consider, an unusual background to this story.

I was contacted recently by a relative newcomer to MMSA who had read one of my "John's New School" stories and got in touch because he said he could relate to it having lived as a child in the same area although in the 1970s as opposed to the late 50s, coupled with the fact that it was also not set in the 'usual' public school.

We then entered into an exchange during the course of which he told me he had been spanked as a child - always on a Friday evening; always while wearing his y fronts; with a hand spanking followed by a slippering delivered in sets of 3; that he had a younger brother; they were spanked together and had to say why they were to be punished.

It all seemed so unusual that to me it was crying out to be turned into a story. Those are the basic 'facts' the rest is pure fiction.

This story is based on his early childhood up to age 11. If it proves popular there is a possibility of a sequel.

Link below if you wish to read it.

I found the regular Friday spankings and the list of naughty deeds very exciting. It's a good read with the usual Ivor flair! Two thumbs up!

Ivor has done his usual outstanding job of producing a great story. The weird Friday night ritual is the basis for the story, but Ivor makes the characters' personalities come to life. The spanking interest is certainly there, but as with all of Ivor's stories, there is so much more.

The narrator really comes to life in this. While too much of the first part is skipped over (which isn't to say that Ivor did a bad job on it, but that I was fascinated and would like to have seen more), the 'meat' of the story was fascinating.

While the story was good and the spanking was hot, I think the two best things about this were that he was able to give the young narrator a believable 'voice', and that he did a good job of showing the boy trying to understand why his dad did things that way (and I think all of us are probably familiar with trying to understand things our parents did that they never bothered to explain and might not have understood themselves).

Overall, a top notch story. Thanks for sharing.

I thought this was outstandingly good and right up there with all of Ivor's other top stories.

He really showed the sheer tedium of life and the predicatable regularity of the Creatures of Habit, mother and father especially, and the drudgery of life for the family with the boys wanting to break out a bit. Poor P.M.T. and S.I.T. [nice witty touch -- parents should always think what the intials might spell when naming their kids].

Then the ritual of the Friday night punishments and the lists accumulated during the receding week.

All of which demonstrates yet again that Ivor is another of our very top authors as shown by his equally absorbing series of John's New School; The Lone Brit Kid; St Justice, as well as all his others.

Super job again Ivor and highly recommended. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Excellent story, Ivor. Normally, stories about regularly scheduled punishment sound a bit over the top and unbelievable, but you did a great job with the characters here, and I could easily picture that honest but too routine-obsessed man acting like that. A pleasure to read!

Ivor has privately asked me to expand on this, but I thought it'd be just as easy to do here, as to generate others feedback.

Sometimes there's a story you want to tell, but you feel there has to be a certain amount of background information. I sometimes complain when the background information becomes overwhelming. On the other hand, there are also times when I feel that there was a fascinating story that was practically skipped.

In this case, Ivor had a story he wanted to tell, and he sat up the background for it. Without going back and re-reading the story (which I actually wouldn't mind doing at some point), I can't be positive, but it just seems like it would have been interested to see more of what happened while the narrator was growing up, especially when the kids realized the younger brother was going to be joining the sessions.

Like I said, it wasn't to imply that there was anything wrong with the story, because it was a great story. It was simply to say that I would loved to have seen more of it.

I am able to say from my upbringing (US: raising) in a workaday industrial townlet in Britain, that Ivor has accurately and convincingly portrayed the time and place (industrial Northern England) in the opening paragraphs that Jack and I especially liked.

Quick aside: We do actually use upbringing in America (at least some of us do or we did). Very Happy

As the original story proved popular I did write the sequel taking it into the brothers teenage years.

Since the scene was set in the original this does concentrate more on the developing habits of those involved.

It has today been posted at MMSA under the very original title of:

"A Creature of Habit - Pt 2"

Really excellent development of the theme of Friday Night is spanks night from Part 1, especially with the devlopment of the relationship and affection of the two brothers as the face adversity together and fell so much for each other.

Part 2 is at http://www.malespank.net/viewStory.php?id=21351

Well done, Ivor. Highly recommended

This is a worthy sequel to the first story, and like everything Ivor rights, it is well worth reading. I like this second story better than the first, actually, as the relationship between the brothers moves into the focus.
