Alright, Alright, Santa Does Exist

By Squarecutter (with help from Charles Dickens)

Jeez! I guess I learned my lesson. I tried to tell Mom that no one in 5th grade believes in Santa any more. She wasn’t having it.

“Tommy,” she said, “you are allowed to think what you like. I know. You think you’re a big boy now that you’re 10, but telling your little brother Santa doesn’t exist on Christmas Eve is completely unnecessary and mean.”

With that she swatted both my bare thighs a couple of times each and sent me to my room to wait for the old man. Christmas or no Christmas, I was getting paddled. Billy, my 6-year-old brother, grinned at me through his tears from a safe position behind my mother. It was like Santa had already arrived for him.

Later Dad paddled me good. Bare butt too. Festive season – you’re joking! Later I apologized and managed to play along when the little guy talked about what Santa would bring.

During the night a strange thing happened. A vision in white appeared in my room.

It looked oddly like my little brother and said, “I am the Ghost of Lost Innocence. To remind you what it is like to be a little boy, I will spank you like one”; and mysteriously my body was in midair, bare bottom raised slightly. What felt like a very large hand spanked both cheeks 3 times each. It stung some on top of the paddling.

“Alright, Alright!” I cried, “Santa does exist.”

A second vision appeared.

”I am the Ghost of Innocence Regained. I hope you are learning your lesson, young man.” The voice sounded eerily like Mom’s. “Do you still think Santa doesn’t exist?”

“No, I sobbed. Please don’t spank me.”

The vision left a slightly wet sensation on my cheek (face) and went away.

Much later I saw an old man in red with whiskers staring at me.

”You know who I am, don’t you?”

I said, “Yes, but two ghosts have already explained things to me. I got it already.”

“Yes, well,” said Santa "but the Ghost of Innocence Retained asked me to reinforce the message." With which he produced a switch, bared my behind and flicked it across my upturned rear ten times. How I begged! I was one sorry LITTLE boy. Santa had proved his point. I cried myself back to sleep, on my side!

In the morning my stocking was full. Should I have been surprised? Christmas was great as ever, even if I was a bit sore.

Little brother Billy was upset when Tommy said Santa isn't real.

LOL, great story. Those ghosts are truly scary!

Thanks, Squarecutter!

I love it, Squarecutter! Great job.

Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Tommy got his come-uppence, but I'm glad that his stocking was full!

I think the idea of spanking ghosts is way cool, and they should visit all naughty boys on Xmas eve, not just the ones who tell little kids that Santa isn't real!!!

If I ever get to be a ghost, that's sure what I will be doing!!

Twisted Evil Laughing cheers santa

Nice bit of invention Squarecutter - or maybe it was factual?

The truth will out.

Oops! Sorry. (don't wanna get spanked by the ghost of cliché retained) Very Happy

Thanks everyone . It just materialised in my head and I thought I'd better write it down before it went away again

I'm certainly glad you did.

It was the Christmas of '75, when I was 10 and in fifth grade, when I lost my belief in the jolly, old elf as a real person who lived at the North Pole. It was only because of some other kid in my class who couldn't wait to spoil it for everyone else.

I hope he had a visit from the ghosts as well!

I love it when ideas just materialize, Squarecutter. Smile What a sweet story, especially as I just read an article not that long ago about a second-grade (!!!) teacher who told her whole class that Santa didn't exist. Thanks for sharing this story with us! I enjoyed it.
