A Shoe Story

An Emlyn Production

Hamid and Aziz
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Great Uncle Emlyn bought a pair of crocs to wear on the beach lest he stub his toes on the shingle. Hamid and Aziz were worried that their great uncle would slip on the tiled stairs after his nightly "glass" of wine, so they took his crocs to be soled and heeled.

Great Uncle Emlyn was pleased until he saw that the boys had got carried away and painted the crocs in the colours of the Berber flag.

Should Hamid and Aziz get whacked?

Why, they are looking nice. As long as they don't touch the wine.

The boys meant to do a kind and good deed. No, they WILL NOT get whacked.

Over time, Great Uncle Em will get used to his decorated Crocs. If he doesn't, after his daily wine ration, will he really care? drunken drunken

I shall console myself that the crocs will be very easy to find in the dark.

That's right, and their intentions were the best. A pious uncle shouldn't be mis en bouteille to that extent anyway. Let it be a lesson unto him.

I think Great Uncle Em is having a whine Smile

Now is that due to too much or too little wine??

This is hard for me. Yes, they did something they shouldn't have done, with someone else's property. However, I think they obviously had the best of motives. In this case, I think I'm going to think them properly for the thought, then mention that I may have selected the color I did for a reason, and suggest that they consider that in the future.

On the other hand, looking at the picture again, I really do need to find some excuse to whack the pair of them.

To borrow, "How could you touch those angels?"

I shall hug 'em and say 'thanks'!!

They're much easier to find, particularly after I've had my nightcap. drunken

Not sure of yellow or green but I think the boys should have fetching though temporary red and blue on their bottoms for their customization Of Great Uncle Emlyn's shoes. Think they will find crocodiles have bite. Still at least Great Uncle Emlyn will find his shoes easily in future and may even able to manage more than the "nightly" glass without slipping up

No punishment. The boys turned a boring, ordinary pair of crocs into custom designed crocs. Let's just hope the paint doesn't chip off.

The painted crocs drew so many favourable comments around Sidi Ifni that Hamid and Aziz decided to go into production. They made a couple of dozen pairs to sell in the Sunday souk.

The boys reckon that flag-coloured crocs are going to be the next big thing: Rabat, Paris, Rome, London, New York. They are going to be rich.

Remember, you first heard about painted crocs in Bransom! Smile
