High Wire Act
An Ivor Production

The Stationmaster of the local rail station where you live, Longwarry, has just arrived at your home and shown you a picture taken earlier that afternoon of your fifteen year old son, Dean,

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

He says that they had intended to arrest him for damaging rail company property but he escaped. You manage to persuade him to drop the idea of arresting Dean on the basis that you will deal with him when he gets home.

What are your plans?

I'd be interested in what damage he had done or if this was instead an act of trespassing. He gets a criminal act and dangerous act for what I can see.

Dean can peel off his skinny jeans and undies and get ready for me to peel away a layer or two of his hide with my strop.

The default is that I am paddling him so he learns not to do something so idiotic again. If I am persuaded that there were trespass notices he couldn't have missed or that he deliberately destroyed railway property he gets a switching. Otherwise I give him a green light as to the track he is headed down

I don't see any damage or any trespassing. I see a kid doing something stupid. I'll read him the riot act, explain liability to him, so he understands why people get upset about stuff like this, then give him enough to get his attention and let him know I'm not happy with him, and a repeat won't be a good idea.

I'd say the trespassing was being on railway property without a ticket, with no means to buy one and with no intention of travelling.

As for the damage the stationmaster assures me the sign is now cracked and will need to be replaced.

Also, is that a cigarette I see dangling from Dean's mouth?

It does appear to be. Maybe he's up there hiding from us.

It's gone and hasn't been replaced yet, I've Just checked on Street View.

Now what's the preferred weapon in Oz?  Evil or Very Mad

If you check it out the photo is a bit of a mystery. Longwarry has only a single track and a single platform, although there is a mention of an historical double track. Thus can't see any reason for the sign in the picture which also doesn't tie in with the Google earth view. Maybe the picture was taken some years ago but for sure there wouldn't be a station master!
