An Ivor Production
This is your 15 year old son, Jason.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

These days Jason can be grounded or will feel a belt across his butt when he transgresses.

You caught him down at the railway tracks a couple of months ago for which he was grounded and you told him then that if you found him there again it would be the belt.

When you get him home is he going to have to hand over his belt and take down his jeans and boxers?

Yep. Deliberate, disrespectful, dangerous disobedience.

"...you told him then that if you found him there again it would be the belt."

You found him there again. You want him to believe you mean what you say. I don't see any alternative to him feeling the belt, which I would deliver to him on his bared backside.

Did I explain to Jason why I don't want him down there? Did I explain it to myself? Is there a reason I don't want him down there, or do I just not trust him not to be an idiot?

When I was a kid, much younger than Jason, we weren't supposed to go near the RR tracks, except to cross them and move immediately away - that was a school rule, not home. I used to walk along the lines all the time.

However, since I did tell Jason this was a rule, and since I did tell him he'd get the belt if it happened again, the belt it is, though I will give him a chance to explain things to me first.

No, I use my own one if he hasn't a valid excuse.

I must agree with Jack on this one.

When something like this comes up, I presume that we are all great Moms or Dads so we of course have explained all of this to our boys.

I can't find the strop... wonder who helped it disappear?????

Aside from the obvious safety issues about being close to a railroad, it is private property -- so call it trespassing, if nothing else.

I'm with Jack on this one! Really nothing much to add.

In the UK, trespassing on the railway is seen as a fairly serious offence, as well as being highly dangerous.

Having a relative, one of whose jobs working for Railtrack is going to remove body parts scattered along the track after fatal accidents and suicides, this would be a severe belting offence. Maybe I could then arrange for him to go out with her for a week on work experience!
