You have two sons: Albert is fourteen and Robbie is twelve. Robbie has been studying time capsules at schools and tells Albert about it. The boys decide to bury their own time capsule that they plan to open in ten (maybe five) years. They mostly fill their capsule with toys and trinkets and bury it in the back yard.
Almost as soon as the capsule is under the earth, Robbie comes to you and tells you what is in the capsule. He says it is mostly toys and trinkets but he also says Albert wrote out a confession and buried that in the capsule. Robbie says Albert said he was joking but Robbie thinks he was very serious.
Albert had been going through a difficult phase but, after the time capsule, he is an amiable boy again.
Do you ask him about the confession? Do you just leave it alone? Perhaps you go dig up the time capsule to see for yourself? Something else?
