You are the parent of two cute little guys. Todd and Tyler - six and five, are only 10 months apart and very close. They are inseparable.

You have a cabin on some rural land, and the whole family likes to visit often. No TV, no phone and no electronics, but the boys have active imaginations and whole outdoors to play in.

Part of the challenge of unplugged living is meal time though. Water comes from a well, hand-pumped, and meals are cooked on an old woodfire stove. You try to be ready and have all hands on deck, because when the sun goes down, clean up becomes all the harder, but you also appreciate how much the boys love their time out and about.

"Boys! Time for supper," you call to the dynamic duo. They're playing on some rocks above a small stream.

"Daddy! We're surrounded by sharks!" they call back.

"That's nice, but it's time for supper!" It's almost impossible to keep food warm without a microwave. "C'mon in! Wash up and help with the table."

"Sharks, Daddy! SHARKS!"

"Five minutes," you concede and head in to help with the meal.

More that five minutes later, your two are still marooned on their rock...

How you do get them off it?

Can you dig it?

David M. Katz

I will go put on my shark proof boots and wade through the river of sharks and rescue the boys and give them a piggy back ride to food and safety.  Very Happy

Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Ditto Katz. I will go rescue them, armed with shark repellant.

John Boy

ditto both.

You may need a bigger boat!

I love you

I will go out with a wooden spoon and see if that frightens them more than the sharks. Seriously I will pretend to swim out and then persuade them that as I made it to the rocks in one piece that the sharks have gone and found something else for their dinner

We plate the food up and go sit on the bank enjoying ours.

"Too bad the sharks won't swim away so you can have your yummy supper"  You call

I'll tell them that unless they hurry up I'll have to send my stingray to rescue them and it'll be packed full of little stingoors

The only sharks I have encountered were tope, in the Mediterranean. I was told they only eat fish, not homo sapiens. I think they were tope, but I don't wear my glasses in the sea.  Shocked

Anyway, I'm going to whack them.

aw....I cant spank the little darlings......Im with the majority of going to get them......

hugs kal

I walk over to the rock.

"I'd say you have two choices. Either you risk the sharks to get inside and eat, or you stay here and face... THE TICKLE-MONSTER!"

If I can't chase them in, then I'll carry them in when they're too out of breath to resist.

K club, too

Though, where can you keep food warm more easily than on a woodfire oven? It's harder not to burn it than to keep the heat for a while.
