A Late Chat Production

You have three sons (Abner-11, Conner-8, and Benji-7. ) If the boys need punishment you find that a spanking works well.

ALL  have had a problem before.  They like really cold soft drinks and have put canned soft drinks in the freezer before.  They forget the drinks and they freeze and explode making a mess.  After several times of cleaning up a mess, you specifically told all three boys that they were to no longer put soft drinks in the freezer.

You are hosting your office's annual New Year's Eve party at your house.  It is a family friendly event and spouses and children are invited to attend.  Your boys will be attending the party. One of the boys (they won't say who and you don't know who) put some canned soft drinks in the freezer so they could have something cold to drink for the party.  Of course the drinks were forgotten, froze and exploded.

At the last minute before the party begins you open the freezer to get some ice.  The ice is ruined and you end up getting the sticky, slushy mess all over your suit.  Not to mention this, the freezer is an absolute mess. The boys run into the kitchen just as everything happens.  The boys exclaim together, "Oops!"  You ask your sons who is responsible for putting the drinks in the freezer and none of them will say.  All of your guests have arrived and you have a house full of co-workers, their significant others and children.

What do you do?

I'm going to go excuse myself, clean up as much as I can quickly, and change, while asking someone to go for ice.

Tomorrow, the boys and I are having a long talk, and if no one confesses, we won't be having soda in the house for a while.

If someone does (believably confess - and only before I inform them of the consequences), they'll get a standard spanking for disobedience -- I'm tempted to add a few extra for not being honest in the first place, but I can understand how finding me that way might have discouraged them. We will talk about that, though.

I'm tempted to say I'll put all three in the freezer and close the lid!

However, since I don't actually want to kill them, well, not quite, I'll ditto Jack.

Whether its tomorrow or at their bedtimes tonight, the boys and I will be having a serious talk. I'm inclined to think that all three boys were involved with tonight's mess as all three arrived in the kitchen and "OOpsed" together in a knowing way no matter who actually put the drinks in the fridge.

I like Jack's idea of banning sodas for a set time. but that isn't enough of a penalty for direct disobedience of my boys.

For now, I will excuse myself to clean up and ask some one to go for fresh ice.

Time will tell how it ends for the boys.

Thank you for giving me the first laugh-out-loud of the year, PB.

They'd been warned so they know what the consequences will be. As Stoney said since the trio arrived together then they must all have been aware of what had bee done, but if one wants to claim sole responsibility I'll accept his confession.

In order not to spoil the event any further for my guests, the spanking will be deferred until they have left.

I'm going to whack them.

I agree with those who said it looks like the three of them are responsible.

The immediate response will be to tell the boys we'll talk later and then change clothes and try to make the best of it. At this date it might be difficult to find somewhere to buy more drinks, but perhaps I know of one of those 24/7 stores that might still be open.

The following day, I think one of these things is going to happen:

1) I spank the three boys.
2) One or two of them confesses and get spanked.
3) If no one confesses and the boys insist on their innocence no one gets spanked but, as Jack suggested, we'll go without soda for a while (actually, I think soda should be for special occasions).

I'll talk with the three boys and depending on their reaction I'll decide.

Giving a ditto nod to Jack's response.
