Kevin is your seven year old son. You have no idea why, but he's been running at full speed all day, not quite literally bouncing off the wall, and driving everyone in the vicinity slightly insane. You managed to put up with it when he was happy, but as time went on, you realized he was getting tired and grumpy. You tried to talk him into taking a nap. You tried to talk him into some quiet time. You took him to his room, read to him, and gave him a back rub, but he was back out of the room almost faster than you were.
If it weren't for his bad attitude, you could probably deal with it (it's not an unknown occurrence, though it's not exactly common either - especially not for the high energy levels and bad mood to combine). You try to tell him how he's acting, you give him a warning, and he still keeps going, so you send him to his room to 'get ready for a hot bottom.'
You were in the middle of something, but you don't want to keep him waiting, so you follow within just a couple of minutes, only to find him awaiting you like thisWhat do you do know (it's still before dinner, and not close to his bedtime)?
"In the end, it's just a story. But if you ask me, it's all true."
